Pants built for the 5AM workout—be it yoga, barre or Pilates—and also the long haul nonstop to Sydney. Their versatility comes from a lightweight technical fabric with 4-way stretch that’s combined with knitted, stretchy fabric at the waistband and cuffs. The body fabric moves with you (you can hike the Bondi to Bronte no problem), plus it sheds light moisture and provides 50+ UPF sun protection. The knitted, elasticized waistband and cuffs allow for mobility and comfort—the cuffs can be worn down or pushed up to calf for a cool modern look. There’s also two front drop-in pockets with tonal double-needle stitching detail; two rear patch pockets.
  • Lightweight polyester/spandex woven with a soft knit waistband and cuffs, 50+ UPF sun protection and a DWR finish
  • Pull on jogger styling stays in place with hidden elastic built into the waistband
  • Two front drop-in hand pockets with tonal double-needle stitch detail; two rear patch pockets
  • Elasticized cuffs at the ankle can be worn down or pushed up to calf
  • Body: 4.6-oz 88% polyester/12% spandex with 4-way stretch and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Patagonia -- please don't change these pants!! Ignore all of the reviews who say 'poor me, an XS didn't fit'. If you have a normal athletic body -- especially muscular legs -- these pants are great! No, they aren't tight, they aren't meant to be -- if you want tight pants buy something else, don't complain to Patagonia & try to make them change these pants. These have a great, slightly slouchy fit (look at the model, it's obvious). Even though there is no tie at the waist, they seem to stay put well. They wash well & seem pretty indestructible so far, even though the fabric is lightweight. These are the best 'jogger' style pants I have found. Lengthwise, they might be a little short for some people. It would be nice if they were offered in multiple lengths. However, at 5'4", they are the perfect length for me. If you are shorter, you understand -- we put up with too long pants all the time. Sorry tall people if one pair of pants in the world is too short for you. The only suggestion I would make to Patagonia would be to ask for another version of this a heavier weight fabric. These are amazing warmer weather pants, but in Michigan we could use a little more warmth a lot of the year. And please, please more colors!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Such great potential! I love the concept of these pants, and I really wanted to love wearing them as well. I am 5'5" 120 lbs and got the XS. Like others, I struggled with the saggy crotch when wearing them at my normal waist. I also wish they were an inch longer, as they were barely hitting my ankles. When I pulled them up higher on my waist to avoid the saggy crotch, they were practically crops! Really wanted to love these pants but I returned due to odd sizing - please fix the saggy crotch and/or length!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect hiking pants for a person who hates pants I get really annoyed with wearing 'traditional' pants while doing strenuous activities: I feel like the pant legs are flapping around too much, the folds of the fabric in my hip crease when climbing interfere with my flexibility, the belt loops/fly/everything around the waist is bulky and annoying... basically, I just have trouble with pants! So usually I hike in stretchy/yoga pants, but I'm heading on a long (and hot!) backpacking trip where I don't want to be wearing cotton, or something that will easily snag on underbrush. After trying and failing with many other styles of hiking pants, these were a revelation. If you're fine with "regular" pants, there's probably no need to experiment with these. It's a different fit, and it may feel weird if you're used to something else. But if you've been unhappy with more traditional styles of hiking pants, give these a shot! I am so glad I did. A note on sizing: I am *always* a small in Patagonia, but I needed an extra small in these. (5'5", 130lb, average build) I would say an extra small in these pants fits more like a roomy small in other Patagonia items. Also, if you're taller than 5'5", the XS will not go all the way down to your ankle -- it just barely hits mine. Aesthetically that's fine with this style of pants, and I always tuck my pants into my socks anyway (take that, ticks!), but you may want to keep that in mind depending on your intended use. Happy hiking, everyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving these pants I bought these maybe a month ago. I could live in them. They are long enough I can where them to my ankles on a chilly day. I did size down but I can comment I run small in the hips for most large pants so in unconstructed waist bands this is an option for me. Love the fast dry finish, great for rainy days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Comfy! I bought the black in a M (I am 5'6" 150lbs) and they fit perfectly. Really comfortable for lounging or activity. I wore them hiking and they were great with the tall brush and no foxtails stuck in them. Will really test them out when I go backpacking in a couple weeks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best pants! I've had these for a month and wear them non stop - for yoga, for dog walking for hiking, running errands. I am 5'6" and about 150 with hips. They fit great. The material is stretchy and lightweight, which works well given that I kive in a warm climate. I love the waistband because it is non binding and comfortable. I have a long torso and appreciate being able to wear them higher on my waist. I can see how for people who are more short waisted the pants might droop too much in the crotch. One of my pa or its Patagonia purchases in years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing pants These pants are fantastic. If you're on the border of M and L go with a M. I had to return and size down. The pants are great for quick errands on saturdays in the city or hiking around in a forest. They're flattering on everyone. I've let two girlfriends with different body types borrow these and they looked awesome on each of them. Pockets in the back make any booty look nice, nice, nice.
