Women's Primo Down Jacket is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wide shoulders, tight hips Seems like a great coat. Loved the color. Unfortunately the arms are long and the shoulders are almost to generous while the hips are cut very tight. Please keep in mind female body shape Patagonia! Not everyone who wears your outerwear is a 6 foot tall athletically built woman with no breasts, hips or butt. Go back to your cut from a few years ago!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from FINALLY A WARM JACKET! I'm constanly feeling cold, even with multiple layers.. So, I figured instead of spending countless amount of dollars on baselayers and fleeces, I would commit to a more expensive down jacket. This jacket is very, very warm and blocks the wind on the mountains. I wish it was a couple inches longer to cover my whole rump, but that is my one and only complaint. The zippers for the pockets and jacket itself are waterproof and very tightly sealed, I wouldn't worry about anything getting damaged in there. Also, the tealish green color is a bright, but not too obnoxious. Always staying warm and having a ball in this jacket!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from best warm jacket but hips way too tight This is hands down the best designed warmer jacket on the market. You can't beat the features (insulated hood!), you'll be bone dry in the most torrential of downpours, and it feels very sturdy. When I saw last year's model had been updated with higher fill, more even down distribution, and a longer length, I was ecstatic. But the hips are much too tight. I'm usually a S but when paired with my snowbelle pants I had to constantly tug the jacket down when I was walking around checking the fit. The M fits over my hips but then gapes around the middle, which I know will translate into wind chill on the slopes. If you're very straight this jacket might be for you, but if you've got any hint of curves you'll probably be disappointed. :/

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic, warm, dry jacket We just returned from a snowy, wet week of skiing in Whistler, BC. The snow fell heavily for a few days on the mountain and the jacket stayed warm and dry even though the snow was melting quickly on our clothes, chairlifts, etc. We looked like rain-soaked skiers by the time we got down to the bottom of the mountain. However, the jacket stayed dry. I am 5'4" and weigh about 117 pounds (size 26 in jeans). and purchased a size Small. I owned the previous version of this jacket also in size Small. This newer jacket fits a bit more loosely in the chest/shoulder area, but otherwise fits similarly for me. The inner powder skirt definitely snugs up the hip area, but I removed it for ease of movement since unncessary for this trip. I could also fit the size XS, but then would have felt a little more constricted overall and I like to layer loosely. This jacket, as compared to the immediately preceding version, feels much lighter weight and the zippers are not as stiff/sticky. Also, the hood on this one fits over my Giro ski helmet, as opposed to the previous, which would not work with my helmet (pulled up the back of the jacket ridiculously). I originally purchased the green color, but in person it looked a bit too muted. I wanted something that stands out on the snow so that my family could see/find me, so exchanged for the red. All in all, a really great jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Received as a gift, with a little bit of hinting. I am tall, athletic and it fit me perfect. Just skied at Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine with wind chills in the single digits and I was warm and cozy the whole time. Lots of tightening pulls that easily release. Sleeves tighten at cuffs to easily slip on gloves. Lots of pockets for tissues, cellphone, lip goup and cough drops. Love love it

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wonderful jacket, weird fit I agree with the previous review--this jacket is wonderful for the most part, but is very tight around the hips and spacious in the chest, arms, and shoulders....hello, this is a women's jacket, not a man's? I will try to size-up, but I'm guessing that I will also end up returning it if the top is too large. Another quibble: the small of my back is constantly cold while skiing, so am not sure if there is a down distribution problem in that particular coat, or if it is a general design issue.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great jacket, poor fit revision First of all, the Primo Down is a GREAT jacket. Warm, comfortable, not bulky. However, Patagonia revised the sizing on the jacket this year. I've always worn a medium (I've owned a few of these) and ordered a medium this year. I could barely zip the jacket over my hips (I am built fairly straight - hips/waist proportional). The chest the rest of the fit were fine. Tried ordering a large. The hips fit like I would expect a medium to, but then the chest and shoulders were huge. Regrettably, I'm returning and will be wearing my old Primo Down this year :-(
