bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Women's Sidesend Pants - Long is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect climbing pants! I love these pants. They are so comfortable for climbing and so long I can roll them up, and I am 5'11. These are great for bouldering or sport climbing. They are stretchy, and flattering (as far as active pants go.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thank you thank you thank you !!! Finally I have girl pants from Patagonia ! Ordered a pair of these Friday and they arrived today and I flew home to try them on and immediately called and I have two more pairs on the way! They are PERFECT! They fit great through the hips not tight but comfy and I do not look like I am wearing a pair of Depends underneath. I do not look like I am expecting high water any minute due to the nice 34" length. I am thrilled....after 26 years of "Pattagucci" purchases I finally have long enough proper fitting ladies pants...Yeah! These are gonna be a hit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, a technical pant that fits like a jean! A product. I've been searching for a women's pant like this FOR AGES! I travel frequently and I try to keep my pack as light as possible. However, I refuse to sacrifice my style for down days spent in town or traveling for function. I'm not talking high fashion here. I'm talking skinny jeans, sweaters and Blunnies. They have made technical pants that look like Chino's for men... I've been wondering when it would be the ladies TURN! Anyway, this pant is just what I have been looking for because fits "like" a skinny jean with the advantages of technical fabric! I can SEAMLESSLY transition from activity to town to travel OR just activity OR just travel!! I don't feel too casual like I do when wearing my hiking pants nor too exposed (or without pockets) as I do when I'm in running tights/yoga pants. The fabric does have have some stretch so it's fitted, but not tight. All pockets zip closed. Buy 'em.
