bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Odor Resistant

Polygiene® odor control permanently protects your garments from smelling like a middle school locker room. Sweat itself is odorless, but it creates the conditions that bacteria need to multiply, and some of those bacteria produce odors. Polygiene permanent odor control stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabrics, so you can wear more and wash less.

Active only on the fabric surface, Polygiene permanent odor control does not interfere with perspiration or with the skin’s natural bacterial flora. Polygiene particles are more than 100 times larger than nanoparticles and therefore are too large to penetrate to the skin’s barrier. Polygiene-treated fabrics have received Medical Class 1 approval in Europe, the same class that includes bandages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great summer shorts Bought medium and fit perfectly (130 5'3"). They are ideal for sports and cardio classes. They haven't been on a long run yet (it is getting cold) but there was no chaffing on my shorter runs! Highly recommend!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tiiiiiiiny I bought these as an add on- the price seemed great and I needed some new running shorts, and having bought the happy hiker short in a size 4 and 6, and baggies in a small, i felt pretty safe in ordering a small. (which is what I have always been in Patagonia) I thought I had made an error when I tried to pull them on and literally got stuck around my scrawny thighs. (I'm 5'9 and 125 lbs and very much on the slim side) Once I got them into place I could see how they were maybe to fit but the waist band begged to be hiked down. I'm not sure if I should try a medium as they seem to be a popular item or just move on to another brand...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed So many reviews raved about how these shorts are a staple for any runner, but I'm seriously disappointed. As with most Patagonia items, they run small, so I sized up from what I wear in almost every other brand and find that these shorts have an incredibly awkward fit. When pulling them on, they're almost too tight in the behind, but once they're on a sitting on my hips the waistband is loose and slouchy. Even with the drawstring tied as tightly as it will go, the waistband still looks and feels sloppy and yet the shorts still *look* like they're too small in the mirror because of where they sit on the hip. The shorts bunch up in the legs when I run, and I have to continually pull one leg down. Even though there is a pocket, it's in the back of the shorts so that anything you put in there sits against the cheeks. I've never had a pair of running shorts that have had a pocket in the back, and the location makes for putting anything in there uncomfortable and constantly noticeable. The one positive remark I can add is that they're super light, but I definitely feel that for the high cost and the usually superb brand that they represent this item is just not worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Light Weight Running Shorts I almost exclusively wear size Small clothing, for shirts, jackets, shorts, you name it. But for these, in order for them to be loose around my butt and thighs, I had to get a Medium. I have an athletic/petite build, 128lbs, 5'4" and would not have gotten a small. Besides having to size up, I love these shorts. They are super light-weight and very comfy. I recently wore them backpacking and they were perfect, dry quickly as well! I don't know about the whole odor-resistant aspect because I accidentally left my shorts in the washer and they smell just as bad as the rest of my clothes :P. Overall, love them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too small for a big legged girl I have two different old (5 years?) pairs of Patagonia running shorts that I love. Not these. They felt and looked tiny. I sent them back. My shape and size: 5' 10", 165 lbs, pant size 12-14, curvy shape. These would be good for 5' 10", 130 probably.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect long run short! I love Patagonia lined shorts! They last forever and don't get stinky. This short in particular is lined and has a back stash pocket. I am 5'6. 125 and wear an XS. The fit is great and I find the length to be perfect for excellent coverage with ease of mobility.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight and versatile Finding a pair of gym/running shorts that fit well and aren't ridiculously baggy on me has been a real challenge. I finally found it in these shorts! I'm a petite 5'4" and usually wear an XS to a S in all Patagonia clothing. The Small in these shorts fits me perfectly. I don't do a lot of running but I've worn these hiking in the Southwest, to the gym, and for doing yardwork on a hot day. I gave them four stars because I think they are overpriced for shorts and also wish they were just a tad shorter since that would look a little more flattering on my small frame. I also wish the pocket had a zipper as another reviewer noted. But overall these are great shorts for a lot of different uses, and I'm very happy with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mobility in them I had been looking for a new workout short as warm weather was fast approaching and i decided to go with these as they were the cheapest. I am 5'6" 110lbs and i got the XS. They are still a it big in the waist but the drawstring is of great help. When these arrived a few weeks ago I proceed to put them on and head out for my first run of the season. They were wonderful! The side slits go up just the right amount for an great amount of movement. After i got home, i went and ordered another pair, also love that they have so many different colors and patterns!
