bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Odor Resistant

Polygiene® odor control permanently protects your garments from smelling like a middle school locker room. Sweat itself is odorless, but it creates the conditions that bacteria need to multiply, and some of those bacteria produce odors. Polygiene permanent odor control stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabrics, so you can wear more and wash less.

Active only on the fabric surface, Polygiene permanent odor control does not interfere with perspiration or with the skin’s natural bacterial flora. Polygiene particles are more than 100 times larger than nanoparticles and therefore are too large to penetrate to the skin’s barrier. Polygiene-treated fabrics have received Medical Class 1 approval in Europe, the same class that includes bandages.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I like the look... These shorts are cool looking but fit a little funny. When running they feel like they are going to slide off which is strange since it feels like I'm going to rip them trying to pull them over my butt. I don't think I have an abnormally large back side but wearing these shorts makes me reconsider that thought. The other strange thing is the built in pocket in the back. It has a cloth ring inside which I assume is for clipping your keys to. However convenient this may be it makes it look like you have a growth on your right cheek. If you love yourself as you are and don't mind some strange lumps then these are the shorts for you. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from super comfy I absolutely love these shorts. If I had a complaint it would be that the draw string doesn't really hold tight. Other than that I wish I would have ordered more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shorts ever!!! I've ran in these a few times, swam, hiked and lounged! Very comfortable, very quick drying, great fit and true to size!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Low rise I bought a size up in the recommendation of a friend, but I think I could have stayed true to size. The drawstring is a nice feature. Very lightweight, soft fabric. They are fairly low rise for my taste, another inch higher and they would be perfect. Overall, nice short.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strider Shorts! Love them. I really like how these shorts move while running. They breath well and the linner fits will without giving a wedgie.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sizing a little awkward I love the shorts, specifically the color and material, but the medium was too small and the large was too big! I wish they were a little more in between. Patagonia is still my favorite company, but I just wanted to let you know my honest thoughts!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just wish there were side pockets I like the shorts, but I wish there were side pockets. I find the back pocket awkward, though I realize some people love them. In general more pockets the better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable shorts I own! These shorts are my favorite running shorts, and they have worked well for both short and long runs (10+ miles), hiking, paddle boarding, and just casual wear. I find that the flat knit elastic waistband is super comfortable, the length is perfect (on the shorter side, which I like), and that they dry quickly when wet. The only thing I wasn't crazy about is that, when new, the lining was a little tight on my butt (I have a large rear end for my size), but it stretched after a couple of wears and feels fine now. The first pair I bought I've had for about a year now, and I can't tell the difference between it and the brand new pair that I just bought a few weeks ago (they're the same color, navy blue/shock pink), so they definitely hold up well. I have 2 pairs in the aforementioned color and 1 pair in the violet blue. I will definitely be purchasing more just in case Patagonia ever decides to stop making them.
