bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Awesome Pants I bought these for winter runs and nordic skiing, and I am not disappointed! They prevented freezing cold thighs on very cold windy days skiing in Northern MN. The fit is true to size - they are slightly long and slightly roomy on me because I am on the shorter side and between sizes (5'5" and 137 lb). I was pleased to comfortably fit layers underneath on very cold days. Probably would have looked silly over my ski boots if they didn't have the zip/gusseted ankle feature - good thinkin' Patagonia! The breathable fabric between the thighs and behind-the-knee panels wore/pilled a little faster than I would have liked, but this is overall a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did the job I bought these pants for a trip to Iceland. They kept me dry and warm in mild raining weather. I would not wear in extreme cold weather without a layer underneath but I was very satisfied with them and have been wearing them on hikes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First choice everyday! I take my little boy outside everyday and these pants are my first choice as we head out! Comfortable, great stretch, can scramble up & down rocks, can squat next to the boy, can sit on the ground comfortably (no gap in the back(, warm but not too warm... they're perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for winter activities I got these pants late in the season so haven't had many opportunities to put them to the test but I have gone snowshoeing in them several times. They are quite warm especially in the front. The lack of wind proofing in the back allowed me to regulate my temperature when really working up a sweat. I could see this area getting a little chilly in colder weather but haven't tried it out. These will be great for cross-country skiing and running when it's cold out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome pants! I just bought these to use for winter time outdoor hiking, running, snowshoeing, etc. They are the perfect weight if it is not too cold (40 or warmer) and pair nicely with leggings if it is cold. I snowshoed in these for the first time; 12 miles, the backs of my knees and bum stayed dry-no chafing! I also love them because I have 2 dogs and the dog hair slides right off the fabric (unlike all my leggings!) I would highly recommend these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THESE PANTS I adore these pants. I run in Bozeman, Montana...before the sun comes winter. So I need something that will keep me warm but comfortable while running. I've always run in running tights, and discovering these was a big improvement. They are very comfortable - I would wear them around the house if they weren't my workout pants (aka, sweaty). The wind proofing on the front is awesome. I have run in them in 10 degrees and feel great. Would highly recommend them! And I love the purple color - nice to have some variety from standard black. :) I'm 5-8, 135, and a medium is great. I didn't try on the small, but they might have fit a bit better. The material is stretchy, and my current pants are a smidge baggy in some spots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great running pants for cold wet days I love these pants on the bone chilling wet Pacific Northwest days. I run in these with a thin pair of running tights underneath. They keep me warm but breathe so i do not overheat farther into my run.
