In December 2025, a coalition of conservation groups, scientists and community members called Conserva Puchegüín was able to purchase Cochamó Valley and the surrounding Fundo Puchegüín area to protect it forever. Their vision for what comes next is an entirely new model of sustainable grassroots conservation and a major environmental victory for our planet.
