Protection up front, breathability in the back. The Nano-Air® Light Hybrid Jacket was created to put an end to the clam factor that often accompanies hefty aerobic effort in chilly temperatures and keep you at optimum operating temperature even on bad hair days. A light layer of warm, stretchy and breathable FullRange® insulation (40-g) is wrapped in a lightweight yet durable, 100% nylon ripstop shell with DWR (durable water repellent) finish for just the right amount of wind- and weather protection up front. Everywhere else, a super stretchy, airy waffle knit swiftly wicks moisture, controls odor and dissipates heat. Other details include a sleek center-front zipper with a zipper garage that’s easy on the chin, stretch-knit cuffs with thumb holes to ensure critical coverage, low-profile zippered pockets for comfort under a harness or pack and a stretch binding hem to seal in warmth.
Features
  • Light yet durable 100% nylon ripstop shell and plain-weave lining offer generous mechanical stretch and exceptional breathability, with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish
  • Revolutionary 40-g FullRange® insulation warms and stretches; combined with the shell and lining, this creates excellent mechanical stretch and unprecedented air permeability (40CFM on front; 130CFM knit on back)
  • Airy, wicking waffle knit on the back of arms and side-and-back panel manages excess heat and moisture
  • Minimal, center-front zipper with low-profile zipper garage
  • Two handwarmer pockets are zippered, welted and low-bulk to wear comfortably with a harness or pack
  • Sleek, low-bulk, snag-resistant cuffs use stretch knit with discreet thumb slots to provide versatile coverage and comfort
  • Stretch binding at hem to seal in warmth

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Odor Resistant

Polygiene® odor control permanently protects your garments from smelling like a middle school locker room. Sweat itself is odorless, but it creates the conditions that bacteria need to multiply, and some of those bacteria produce odors. Polygiene permanent odor control stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria on fabrics, so you can wear more and wash less.

Active only on the fabric surface, Polygiene permanent odor control does not interfere with perspiration or with the skin’s natural bacterial flora. Polygiene particles are more than 100 times larger than nanoparticles and therefore are too large to penetrate to the skin’s barrier. Polygiene-treated fabrics have received Medical Class 1 approval in Europe, the same class that includes bandages.

Men's Nano-Air® Light Hybrid Jacket is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great XC ski jacket Excellent for aerobic outdoor activities like skate/classic skiing. I have worn it from 15 to 32 F and never been cold. The knit panels work quite well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The ‘mullet’ rocks! Most versatile piece in my kit. I love everything about this piece. The cut is perfect and allows enough room for a hoody/sweatshirt or cap shirt with the added slight stretch of the waffle/woven material. The waffle material is fantastic at regulating temperature even with a pack on. I foresee Patagonia using this waffle material in more products. Pants would be amazing! It has been hard to not put this on with a t shirt everyday. Temperature range of 40 degrees Fahrenheit(fully zipped) to 60 degrees farenheidt(unzipped.) I have used this below these temps with a cap thermal shirt during high output activities and found it satisfactory. Throw a Patagonia galvanized shell over top and your money in the snow and ice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for extended aerobic activity in the cold I have the nano air hoody half zip and that was just a bit warm for a lot of activities. This jackets added breathability and a bit less insulation is perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfectly designed for what it is meant for I wear this as an outer layer for active pursuits in sub 32F weather. It keeps me dry and warm in trail running, ice climbing, and backcountry skiing amazingly well. Above freezing and this layer gets a little too steamy for me but if you run cold I'm sure you could do it. When hybrid concept clothing was initially rolled out a few years ago I said "Ha! Marketing!" but I have become a 100% convert.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game changer Uses so far: Moderate/cool weather rock climbing, Backcountry skiing, trail running, mountain biking. Fit: I am 6’2”, 145 lbs and have long arms. The medium is a perfect slim fit. Warmth: Slightly (by design) less warmth than the nano air light hoodie and even more breathable due to the fleece backing on the arms and the back. The well placed thumb loops warm the back of the hands nicely. Weight: At 10oz, this qualifies as an ultralight piece. Compressibility: This piece is more compressible that the nano air light hoody and can easily be stuffed into a small stuff sack to clip to your harness or disappear in your pack. Breathability: Exceptional, the most breathable piece in the nano air line. Occasionally I have come close to overheating in it (hard trad climbing or uphill mtn biking) but still stayed dry and comfortable. When the activity level comes down a bit, one will cool down quickly due to the fantastic breathability. Summary: I wear this, the nano air light hoody, and the regular nano air jacket exclusively for all my colder weather pursuits. It all depends on just how cold it is. They have replaced all of my fleeces due to their superior performance. The hybrid fits a niche for moderate to cool weather high octane pursuits. I have worn it extensively: climbing in the fall in Yosemite and throughout Colorado, mountain biking all over the west, spring corn season, and trail running in all seasons. It is perfect for temps in the 50-60’s with just a cap 1 t-shirt. However, I have worn it climbing and BC skiing in much colder temps with no issues as long as I was working hard. I really love the whole nano air line, and one can tailor which piece they use to the activity level and temps. This active insulation piece is a game changer for those pushing it hard in the alpine, well done Patagonia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely comfortable and breathable I bought this in hopes of getting a jacket just a bit warmer and wind resistant than a sweatshirt for cool fall weather in Minnesota. The insulated panels are extremely breathable without losing too much heat to the wind. The back, side and underarm panels are very breathable and are not especially wind resistant but that's OK if you are moving and generating heat, sitting down in a convertible with the top down or wearing this jacket as a mid layer. The jacket is a pretty athletic fit but is flexible enough to move easily. In short, the jacket fulfills all of my expectations. I am 6'1" tall and weigh a bit more than 160. I bought a size large to get sleeves long enough to suit me. I could have gotten by with a medium if I did not want the sleeve length or room enough to wear a bit heavier shirt underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet aerobic jacket for cold conditions Athletic fit: the medium fits me well, long arms and torso but not super wide around. It's a warm jacket, especially if you're moving (running or walking steep inclines). The vented materials in the back do snag easily and cause loose threads, but it hasn't effected function. Its ligjtweight bit I wish it compacted down a little smaller so I could more easily stow it in my hydration vest for longer efforts.
