Who says hard-core fishing pants have to look like hard-core fishing pants? Not us. In fact, our Away From Home Pants feature a stylish, feminine fit that looks and feels great stalking the flats or biking into town for café con leche. Blending form and function, these pants are made from two fabrics: a stretch-woven 96% nylon/4% spandex blend on the seat for enhanced durability; and a light, quick-drying nylon taslan everywhere else for fast dry times and cool-wearing comfort. They have the technical features you need for serious fishing—50+ UPF sun protection, a nylon utility keeper, two front and back pockets, a double side pocket on the left leg, articulated knees and a DWR (durable water repellent) finish—but thanks to classic jean-front styling, they work equally well on the trail, around town or anywhere else that takes you away from your home waters.
  • Durable, quick-drying nylon taslan with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and 50+ UPF sun protection; stretch-woven seat is supercomfortable and water-resistant

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit! Love that the length can be adjusted to below the knee with the inside strap and snap. Wrinkle free!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small in upper thigh I really liked the feel and length of these pants however, the upper thigh area is too tight. I've bought two pair of these one in my original size, then a size larger and both had the same problem, as if the upper thigh is continuously the same measurements throughout all the sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! These quick dry pants are perfect for travel, fly-fishing, hiking, etc. They have become my favorites!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great flexibility & sun protection Bought for a trip to NZ for sun protection - these definitely prevented some burns. They were also perfect for the 65-75def F range of temps of a NZ summer. The people I was with didn't even realize they converted to capris because the fasteners are so subtilely incorporated in the design. One downside: the top back panels (over the bum) are of a slightly different fabric or dye lot that's discernable in the right light or with the right sunglasses, which bothered me some but not enough to return the pants - in the end, their usefulness definitely overcame this ascetic problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fit, functionality Bought these pants to guide in last spring, and have loved the fabric and cut. They have been worn on fishing trips in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Georgia and Brazil!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not too big (not too small.) No good pockets. These pants were not mis-sized for me. Clearly not every body type will need to order a size (or two) up as suggested by some reviewers. I ordered a 6 even though I am a 4 and they are too big everywhere. That mistake was my fault for not going with my gut (and the June 3, 2015 reviewer's comments) and ordering my regular size. The other problem I had with these is Patagonia's - the lack of usable pockets. I wear a vest when I am fly fishing (as well as a lanyard), but I would still like to see zippered back pockets and a big velcro-closure thigh pocket for a fly box. I otherwise like the material and the styling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I read all the previous reviews so I ordered a size larger then I usually wear and they too BIG! I love the potential though so I am returning the larger size and ordering my usual size.
