From moving cattle to mending fence, ranch work requires a good horse, no crying and a warm, rugged coat that is versatile enough to wear to town. The warmest of our non-down coats, the Stormdrift Parka combines a hardy, water-resistant nylon canvas shell with a zip-out insulated coat. Wear the insulation and shell layers together for cold days or separately for milder conditions. The 2-layer shell is treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish, and the interior coat is filled with two layers of 100-g (92% recycled) polyester Thermogreen® insulation–doubled in the body for grim conditions, single layer in the sleeves for mobility. Shell features: adjustable snap-on hood; tall, zip-through stand-up collar that opens flat for ventilation; full-length center-front zipper with storm flap that secures with snaps; handwarmer pockets and left chest pocket with exposed water-resistant zippers for easy access; internal cinch cord at waist; princess seams front and back; and a straight fit that leaves you unencumbered in the saddle. Interior parka has on-seam handwarmer security pockets. Above-the-knee length.

bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Recycled Polyester

In 1993, we adopted fleece into our product line made from post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic soda bottles. We were the first outdoor clothing manufacturer to do so. PCR® clothing was a positive step towards a more sustainable system – one that uses fewer resources, discards less and better protects people’s health.

Today, we’re able to utilize more sources for recycled polyester and offer it on more garments such as Capilene® baselayers, shell jackets, board shorts, and fleece. We now recycle used soda bottles, unusable manufacturing waste, and worn out garments (including our own) into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.

Using recycled polyester lessens our dependence on petroleum as a raw material source, curbs discards and reduces toxic emissions from incinerators.

Women's Stormdrift 3-In-1 Parka is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm Warm Warm This is the warmest coat I have ever worn to survive the brutal Chicago weather! The only parts of my body that feel the cold are those that are not covered by the coat. I'm looking forward to see how the other parts work individually.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I love that this coat is wind resistant. All your body heat stays with you. The length is perfect. Some coats are too long and make getting in and out of the car difficult. This coat doesn't have that issue for me. The outer shell is durable and soft. Some outer shells are thick and structured too much that the can restrict movement. Not this soft new love of mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great casual coat I'm glad I got this because the colors match both blacks and browns. It also can be both casual as well as dressy. It ran a little smaller in the arms than I'd like but other than that it was great! Also if you are chesty be aware that it may be a little snug in that department.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish and Warm! I love this coat and have gotten lots of compliments on it. It is true to size (I am 5'5", 110 lbs, 32D and I got an XS, I also tried on the size Small and it was waaay too big on me). The only downside is that when wearing too many layers it is tight and constricting. However, this coat is so warm that minimal layers are needed. The coat falls just to the knees providing extra coverage and warmth. Perfect purchase for the cold Ohio winters. Definitely satisfied!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm & Versatile, Great Investment Bought this jacket during Patagonia's Black Friday Sale where all sales went to environmental charities. It was the most I've ever spent on a jacket, but is so well worth the investment and philanthropy. When living in Cleveland, OH, you gotta be tough and have a warm and versatile coat. This 3-in-1 Parka fits the bill! The inner shell fits snuggly and is pretty warm on it's own, but adding the parka over top makes it warmer, protects against wind and is waterproof. Didn't realize the hood detaches until days after I got it, which is great because sometimes you don't need that extra material flapping behind. The construction of the jacket is top notch and the pockets are in all the right places. I was disappointed at first when I realized it didn't have a double zipper, but the coat is so long that when you sit down the jacket doesn't bubble up in the chest like some of my past coats have so it's now a non-issue. Not sure if I can wear the parka on its own because it's quite a bit larger than the shell is. Not a deal breaker though! I look forward to many more Cleveland winters with this quality piece!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heavy duty jacket for city wear This seems like a great jacket, and I liked the versatility of the two layers that could be one separately or together. Unfortunately, the XS was too long for my 5'2" frame, and too narrow for my pretty average hips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from keeps you warm! coming from sunny California, i bought this parka to survive winter in upstate New York and it has worked great. it fits as expected and the 3-in-1 feature provides versatility–use the outer shell for rain and the inner shell for warmth. definitely recommend this coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! This is by far the warmest jacket I've ever had! I nearly get overly warm in 20 degree weather. The style and color is versatile in that it can be dressed up or down. Jacket does run on the larger side; I'd recommend sizing down. I'm 5'5 and 117lbs and the XS is still roomy on me (with or without the liner).
