This coat is very warm and I love it!! I just wished I realized that the models were so tall. The coat is a lot longer than I wished it would be.

Perfect for being outside during cold soccer games and cold walks outside!! It took me a while to purchase But so happy I did
This coat will keep me warm next winter. Looking forward to more early morning walks in the cold. Fit is good, and not "slim" so I can layer under it. Color is subtle and pretty.
Beautiful and stylish coat but needs two revisions
I honestly loved everything about this coat - the style, the soft hand of the fabric, the coziness, the fit. But two things (also noted by other reviewers) kept me from keeping it. 1) the hood fit was odd. I would have much preferred a removable hood (like the Down With It) as this hood was too puffy/bulky behind my head when not using it.

Bury me in this parka
I've had this parka for 3 years now and it's my best winter coat! I wanted a super warm coat that wasn't bulky. It's also waterproof, which I wanted for the freezing rain weather we get in central VA. I wear it all the time!
As other reviews have mentioned, this coat is an investment. I tried several other parkas that advertised similar down fill. This one is hands-down the warmest with far better wind/weatherproofing! I liked this coat however did not keep it.. over all the fit was good but a little boxy in the shoulders length was also good considering Im on the short end!
A great jacket choice for more mild conditions. The exterior is not windproof, which is important in northern New England. Also, I would have loved to see the 3 snaps found on the Down With It jacket incorporated into this design to increase leg mobility.

Very warm
This replaced a 15 year old Patagonia coat I loved and I love this even more. Its warm but not bulky and appropriate for work or with jeans.
The parka exceeded my expectations except for the zipper. The parka fit true to size, had sophisticated lines and lovely fabric. It is light weight, yet warm. However the zipper was flimsy. The reverse zipper function kept jamming. Since I did not want to deal with this frustrating fact on a daily basis, I returned the parka.

I'm 5'4" and 145lb, got a size M, and it fits more like I'd expect an M sweater to fit, which means there's not much room left for layers. There is room for a good base layer or a close-fitting sweater, but not really enough room for a looser or thicker sweater. If you want more room like many coats have, consider sizing up.
It could really use more pocket space. A parka makes my pants pockets inaccessible, so it's more important than in other coats. The external pockets are just about big enough to fit a hand, it would be good if they were bigger to better hold a hat or gloves once I'm inside. Even my small phone bulges unpleasantly in them right now. And while the left internal pocket is convenient because you only have to unzip a little to get at it, it would be nice if there was another one on the right side as well.
The central zipper goes high up, and due to how stiff it is it's uncomfortable against my chin or throat unless I unzip it pretty far. Which of course means being cold unless I add a scarf which is a waste of the zipper... Would be nice if the top of the zipper were softer or more padded so I could actually zip it all the way without discomfort.

This parka is well designed, warm, and stylish. I purchased after trying out the Glacier Jacket (short version) and deciding that style was not warm enough for my needs. The extra room did not result in a poor fit overall, as I wore it recently during a severe wind event without feeling a draft; it held up very well. I can comfortably wear both a Better Sweater and Down Sweater, or only a t-shirt and am still warm, so it is versatile. Although, the outer sleeves are a bit long but they dont look too bad and actually get shorter if I put on a warm sweater. I actually really like the hood as its warm and looks stylish even though some people mentioned it being too puffy.
I also liked Patagonia Tres 3-in-1 parka, but I was afraid it would not be warm enough on snowy or icy days.
Jackson Glacier is a really nice parka. The quality is really nice and I love the environmental approach of Patagonia manufacturing. In fact, I only seriously considered purchasing Patagonia brand for that reason.

I have been eyeing this jacket for a couple years but couldnt justify the price. So I waited, reading the reviews and keeping it in mind. I finally got it (on sale) and overall, I really do love it! So while at the store, I tried on the S and the M, and ultimately went with a S. The shoulders are just a tad too narrow and I have found this with other jackets. My shoulders are not unusually wide, but I seem to need a quarter of an inch on each side to have the perfect fit. The collarI saw the previous reviews and they have seemed to fix the previous problems. The jacket comes up to about my mouth and because I often walk my dog in 4 degree weather, it would have been perfect if it was just a bit higher. For next years jacket, maybe you could consider increasing the height about a half an inch to an inch. The pocketsagain I saw the previous reviews and I would say, the overall pocket size is good but give me just another half inch increase in zipper length so the opening is larger. So there I am, walking my dog in 4 degree temps and my hands will freeze if I take off my gloves. I find myself trying to fast forward my podcast through the adds after pulling my cell phone out of the pocket, but with my gloves onI just cant slide my cell phone back in quickly and easily enough. I just need the opening to be bit bigger. Jacket bulgeI would agree with a previous reviewwhen sitting down the bottom of the coat bulges and I have to push it down to smooth it out. Not a big dealI guess that is what you get for wearing what is essentially a sleeping bag. The lengththe length looks great and is perfect for the 59 model on your website but alas, I am only 54 and the jacket falls right at my knees. I love how long it is and I wish it was just an inch shorter so that it fell right above my knee caps. The zipperI have not had any problems with it, and I can see why it could go south. Luckily it can be replaced if anything happens. I have noticed it takes a little extra work to get it started when zipping it up. Not sure how that could be remedied and hopefully this wont become a problem. Arm length.again, give me a half an inch more. Hope the review helps and again, overall, I am very happy with it!

Warning: In-Depth Review
I debated about getting this jacket because I had gone through the reviews and noticed that the main issues with this coat were the zipper and it not being that warm. Though it still had a 4-star rating.
After a lot of consideration, I purchased it in December 2019.
Quality:
The outer material is good with regards to wat... Read Moreer resistance. I had a snowball (really wet snow) fight in it and I was dry afterwards.
The zipper is a bit annoying. It almost has a personality of its own (Sometimes it works other times it can be quite challenging).
The hood is also a bit small. There are no drawstrings to keep it up. The neck area is a bit awkward too as it hits right below my chin.
It's not super warm. I find that if its mild-cold out I can wear it with just a long t-shirt or short sleeve. If it's cold I like a heavy sweater (I live on the East Coast of Canada can get to -20 Celcius).
Feathers do come out sometimes but not too often where you feel like you won't have a coat after wearing it a couple of times.
Look:
When it arrived, the packaging was a bit deceiving as it seemed small. Once I took the coat out of the package it was really nice. The material felt of good quality and it looks really nice.
Fashionable and sophisticated.
I'm not tall and it hits just below my knees but not at the awkward mid-calf area.
The coat is a weird shape when you zip it up, it curves inwards between my legs. Which is quite annoying.
Size:
Depending on how you define size, I like my clothes (jackets) to run slightly larger than my build (athletic) which this coat does. I can put a medium weight hoodie and it feels comfortable.
Areas that it is larger for me is the shoulders but its not to bad. Just not fitted. I have medium size shoulders.
Recommendations:
I like to see a coat that was a bit warmer and had a lining that you could take out so you don't get the coat dirty after coming from the gym rather than having to wear a sweater all the time. It would make it a bit more comfortable to wear.
Make the hood larger. Two small. Also addressing the issue of where it hits the neck.
Better zipper (easier to zip) and the weird area where it goes inward when zipped.
Overall, I like my coat (bought it on sale) but the regular price I do not think I would recommend it.

This has been great in all weather, and held up in wet conditions better than just a down jacket could. It keeps me warm in under 20 degree weather no problem. Great Jacket!

Kudos to Patagonia for incorporating last winter's reviews into the production of this winter's (2018-2019) version. The changes (for reference, I'm 5'2 1/2", about 135 lbs, with an athletic build; I li... Read Moreve in New York City):--pockets seem bigger than a review mentioned were true of last winter's parka. I can fit my entire hand plus my smartphone in each pocket, though not much more. (Before going further, nope, I don't work for Patagonia. Never have. Just think they deserve credit for revising this parka for the better.)--the issue with the top of the zipper scraping the chin has been solved. The several parkas I tried on in the store, plus the one I ordered, haven't had this issue.--the neck part is quite roomy (but not too roomy; just enough for a scarf) and isn't stiff.--the bottom half of the parka doesn't sink between my knees.
Warmth:I get cold easily, but so far this winter, this parka has performed well when it's ~35 degrees Fahrenheit (~15 mph winds, low-20s with wind chill). I'm comfy with a tank top and leggings underneath, plus a hat (but see note below). Looking forward to seeing how warm I am in it when it's colder and even windier, but I wanted to write this for people searching for winter coats now. ALSO I haven't tested this parka when it's raining / snowing out.
Sizing (yeah, I tried all these sizes in the store):--XS: fits snugly (but not too snugly)--S: pretty roomy with just a baselayer underneath. And I have pretty broad shoulders for someone my height. Snug with a fleece and a baselayer underneath.--M: roomy. Also roomy with a fleece and baselayer underneath. Without the fleece underneath, the parka looks way too big.--I chose the small, which hits three-quarters of the way down my knee.
It's not perfect:--when sitting down, the parka does balloon a bit around the waist for a second (till I push it down), then all is well. Not a big deal for me, but others might care.--when it's been windy, sometimes the wind has gone under the bottom of the parka and up to my waist, so my bottom half is less warm, BUT I was wearing leggings as pants when this happened. When wearing fleece pants, my legs are warm.
Tested this in a snowstorm in Chicago and it kept me warm! The zipper issue doesn't bother me because most of the time it's not zipped all the way (I did zip it all the way a few times but I tucked my chin behind the jacket to stay warmer, so wasn't an issue). The pockets are fleece lined and kept my hands very warm! Love the coat!!!... Read More
Hi Hélène, thanks for reaching out to us! We're sorry to hear that the parka isn't warm enough for you. You're definitely welcome to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html#searchterm=return) it. If you're interested in looking at something warmer we'd suggest the [Frozen Range Jacket](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-frozen-range-jacket/27985.html?dwvar_27985_color=MEV&cgid=root&isSearch=true#q=womens%2Bfrozen%2Brange&lang=en_US&start=1).
While this jacket is aesthetically pleasing, its functionality and warmth is severely lacking. This is supposed to be one of the warmest jackets Patagonia has to offer, yet I STILL feel cold even when wearing a long sleeve and sweater under this jacket in -5C. The arms have very little padding or stuffing, and I can feel a slight chill of the winte... Read Morer wind coming through the jacket on my arms and shoulders. I really wanted to like this jacket, after having a "Down With It Parka" for 3 years, I expected a lot more from Patagonia. Unfortunately, now, I only use this when its 0-5 degrees Celcius, and now, have to buy a new TRUE winter coat from another company. If you live somewhere cold, get another jacket.
Hi Victoria, we're sorry to hear you're disappointed with your purchase. It sounds like you need a warmer parka as this one is indeed not nearly as warm as the Down With It. It falls around the middle within our parkas when it comes to warmth. The warmest is the [Women's Frozen Range 3 in 1](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-frozen-range-3-in-1-parka/27980.html), followed by the [Women's Down With It](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-down-with-it-parka/28441.html), the [Women's Arctic Willow](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-arctic-willow-down-parka/27960.html) and so on. Perfect coat: great fit, waterproof, and WARM without bulk
I've been looking for a new down coat for about two years and this one couldn't be better. It's about twice as warm as my old Spiewak & Sons coat, and not any bulkier. It's also totally waterproof, down to the zipper. There are a lot of really smart cuts and details (hidden toggles on the hood, hidden zippers on the pockets,... I wavered before buying because of reviews talking about zipper issues and the top poking into their chin, but neither of these things have been remotely true for me.
I did size down; I'm normally a S in Patagonia, but since this was a regular (not slim fit), the S was a little baggy and the XS fit perfectly.
Can't wait to wear this coat for years and years.
