All-around great jacket
Bought this jacket at REI 6 yrs ago, used it nearly daily since, and in all kinds of hiking, wilderness canoeing, fishing, skiing, etc., etc., etc. I finally wore it out (became threadbare) and replaced with exact same one. Perfect under-liner jacket. Don't stop making it - will need to reorder in another 6 yrs.

I got a xl maybe 5 years ago, and as the gith increased with age, the XL wouldn't zip up without a great deal of effort. So I bought an xxl -- I can zip it up ok -- sleves are a bit longer -- buit overall it is such a great product that the sleeves are but a small matter.

Warm but faulty threading.
This jacket is my first nano puff. Brilliant in most ways except that I have multiple threads loose throughout the entire jacket. Ive only had since November. Not satisfied with this price and hype for product. Thought these things were meant to last! Shame.
Thank you for the review on our Nano Puff Jacket. It's unfortunate to hear about the loose threads, luckily the insulation is one piece so it will not affect the performance of the jacket. My go to favorite Jacket
Stylish, lightweight and warm. Im 175 lbs and the medium fits fine if I didnt want room for a thick fleece for teen temps. I bought the large instead to allow for extra versatility. That said, the large size still fits great even with a thin fleece! Super comfortable and well made. I liked so much, I bought two!
This is a great jacket. It is light, warm, and comfortable. The only problem with it is that, if you wear it without an outer layer, the stitching on the forearms tends to catch/snag on the zippers for the pockets. If the zippers had a thin polyester cover to keep them from catching the stitches, this would be a perfect five star jacket.

Maybe Ill find something better. I also have a down puffer, and like it too, it rarely use it where I am. Also have three Patagonia rain shells, and find them excellent as well. Great Combo of Style & Warmth
This was the first Patagonia jacket Ive ever purchased and Ill most certainly be back. Its hard to find a jacket that stylish but also warm. Absolutely the best jacket I've ever owned.
I first bought this jacket in the SF store because it was very orange (a beautiful SF Giants orange). When I tried it on, a woman next to me said, "It's very orange" and inadvertently sold it to me. My original jacket (an XL) was stolen at a coffeeshop. When I saw they didn't make the beautiful orange jacket anymore (I called Patagonia and they were nice enough to check inventory everywhere they could to confirm that there were no more available...great service!), my wife combed ebay until we found an orange one. Excellent choice to throw on for AM dog walks, long afternoon hikes, or just a bounce around town. Super warm considering how light it is. This is my 3rd one. The first one is still going; Tattered from use around the farm and in the shop; The second one was my town coat but it got a little tear and now will replace the first one; The third one is now my sparkly town coat. Great layering item for cool and cold temperatures.
Nano Puff rocks - color option great too
Bought this classic - again -- this color / a lemon-lime - has caught a lot of compliments already. This coat works great for layering - nice slim line fit - works fine for 6'5" height - sleeves fit fine. Would like to buy another one with the hood - very practical item that will get a lot of use.
Great Warmth to Weight Ratio
I've been very pleased with the Nano Puff jacket. It's light enough that I can wear it under a blazer, but it's warm enough that I was walking around in it as an outer layer on windy, 30F day and felt completely protected. The fit is better than many new Patagonia products, that team to favor tall, slim builds. At 5'10 and 180 l... I bought a men’s large
I bought a men’s large nano puff jacket approx 4 years ago and it has served me well. I ordered another one same jacket, same size and it must be cut smaller because it does not fit the same and I’m the same size when I ordered previously. I love this product but am disappointed because it doesn’t fit like I wanted it to.
We are sorry that this jacket didn't fit like you'd prefer it to. We welcome you to [send](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html#searchterm=return) this back to us for a refund or we can help you with an exchange if you'd like to try a different size. Thanks for the feedback on this!
Love my Nano Puff Jacket. Wear it as a base layer while waterfowl hunting and does an excellent job suppressing the cold. Have also dressed it up and worn to the office. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is for fit. I’m 6.4 and weigh 200lbs. The large is still baggy around the waste. Really wish there were tall options.
Got this for our 12
Got this for our 12 yo son, who has outgrown the "boys" section (long & lanky). This jacket is a little big, but we figured that he would be able to grow into it. So far, it has proven to be great (he's only had it a week) and best of all, he doesn't mind "putting on a jacket" to go out and play...
Weight to warmth ratio is crazy. I have been wearing the pullover version of this for the last 8 years and have transitioned it to a work coat. Purchased a large Men's Nano Puff Jacket and couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. The jacket is extremely lightweight, but provides plenty of warmth. I'm 6'6" - Perfect Fit
For any long - armed tall guys out there, you know it's hard to find -anything- that fits both your body and your arms. This jacket fits snug to the body and also plenty of length in the arms. Great Coat, Small Flaw
I have owned on other Nano-Puff jacket and one Down Sweater. The Nano Puff is a good insulator, is lightweight and fits true to size. There are couple of flaw related to the outer material. The material is easily snagged which is avoidable. The opening around the neck/chin area wears almost instantly from rubbing on my chin when fully zipped. I do ... You just can’t beat Patagonia for quality. This jacket is lightweight and quite comfortable. I bought it as a match for my Nano Puff vest, which I wear most every day. I bought the same size as my vest (a Large). The sleeves on the jacket are a bit long but I can live with that - when walking in the cold I often pull the sleeves down over my hands ... Looking everywhere in every catalogue
Looking everywhere in every catalogue is a little frustrating ,but my son ,the recipient of the jacket kept reminding me of his previous nano puff jacket which he wore in bitterly cold Michigan as an underlayer and now he lives in New York City with much milder temperatures .This jacket fit the bill!
Great Jacket But Lower Quality?
This is my second Nano Puff jacket and I absolutely love it! This lightweight coat keeps me surprisingly warm during hikes, on the river, and around town. My only complaint? The second jacket started losing its threads by the second day. I wasn't even hard on it. I would still recommend this piece but I am less than happy with the quality.
Hey there Brendan! Thank you for your feedback on the Nano Puff Jacket and sorry to hear that the threads are coming out. You can use some Tenacious Tape or a dab of super glue on the ends of those threads to keep them from unraveling further. As always we want you to be satisfied with your gear so you are welcome to bring it to a local Patagonia store or send it in for a warranty [return or repair](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).
I love my Nano Puff
This is my second Nano Puff, the first of which I wore so much it became threadbare in many places. I'm pretty hard on my clothing and my Nano just kept on working. Eventually I snagged the zipper area and totally destroyed it but with the iron clad guarantee I am now wearing a shiny new one.
Nice casual jacket
Lightweight jacket yet very warm considering how thin it is. Very packable. Warm. Blocks wind. Comfortable. Heavy enough to keep you warm on most occasions. Under layer or over layer
I bought this jacket to use under a Micro Puff Storm Jacket I bought last March. The storm jacket was warm enough for temps in the 30’s and 40’s in upstate NY in March, but I sensed it wouldn’t be adequate on a 10 degree day in January without a warm under layer. The Nano Puff jacket has a slim fit and works perfectly under the more roomy fit of th... Read Moree storm jacket. I now have an extremely lightweight double layer that can handle the colder temps. The Adobe Brick Nano Puff looks so good that I’m sure I’ll be using it by itself as well.
Light weight, packable, comfy, funky inner lining which actually allows you to use it backwards! For real! (Brick color). It fits a little odd though, sleeves to long and tide body on a 6’2” 205 lbs guy (on the slim to normal build) the down sweater fits way better but left lots of feathers on clothes.
For a light weight insulating layer it’s pretty good. I bought this to replace a basic 650 fill down puffy that was at the end of its life. This is the second Patagonia jacket I've had in green. Both have shown dark discoloring around the inside of the collar. So weird. It's not like I sweat profusely or don't bathe. I don't get it. Maybe it happens on my black puffer but I just can't see it.
We're sorry to hear this! Those stains appear due to natural skin oils rubbing against that specific area and do not affect the performance of the jacket. However, we understand if you'd prefer to [return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) it.
The perfect layer!!! And travel jacket.
Packable. Warm. Comfortable. This is the perfect layer. Heavy enough to keep you warm on most occasions. If you find yourself in very cold weather, pair this jacket with proper layering and you’ll find yourself warm without the feeling of being weighed down. Oh yeah, it also packs into a nice pillow for traveling!
Well worth it
I knew you had a good product but was always scared off by the price. Well now that I got past that mental block I know why they cost a bit more is because that are worth it. You get what you pay for. A great jacket worth every penny. I will buy more Patagonia products as I have a need. Love them.
This is a re-review. I have now had the jacket for several months, with some serious hiking and backpacking, along with multiple bike commutes in PNW winter. It is amazing in warmth to weight! I would not wear this jacket without a cover whilst doing serious rock climbing, as I am sure it would shred the fabric, but that is easily avoided, and I am too old for that anyway. But it has served well in the back country with care for its inherent fragility. In my opinion/experience, it second only to my stand up shorts as the best outdoor garment ever.

I have a very old version of this jacket. Looks nothing like this one (mines a half-zip, non-pleated insulation, with zippered chest pocket - at least 20 years old I would say). Great jacket, but definitely won't last very long
Nano puff is a great jacket, its super light weight, easily packable. 5'11" 200 lbs athletic build. This jacket does what its intended for, which is to be part of a layering system. If you aren't an outdoor athlete/sportsman this jacket is probably not for you. Read Moremy layering system(windproof shell, heavy fleece and wicking base layer). With most Patagonia clothing I feel this is overpriced and definitely too fragile for the price. If you have a shell on with velcro wrist adjustments they will quickly catch the nano's elastic wrist bands and start pulling them apart, this is an easy fix that Patagonia should address. As others have stated the baffle stitching will start pulling loose here and there. All this wear happened the first time I used it on a four day snowshoe expedition. If your looking for a mid layer to add to your system this is pretty decent, it's light, not bulky and helps keep the wind out while keeping the heat in. With that said you could still find a better jacket for cheaper, but Patagonia does do a lot to try and bring awareness to environmental problems and puts its money into helping preserve all the great places this planet has to explore.
Love the jacket. Lot's of fraying.

Let me start off by saying that this is ALMOST the best jacket I have ever bought. It is warm, light weight, and such an amazing all around jacket with a horrible side effect. Not very durable
The Nano puff will keep you warm but I would not plan on using this for real outdoor activities. The shell material is very lightweight but is prone to snags. I wouldn't go hiking in this jacket because after an hour the shell would be wreaked. Also, the jacket does run small. I am 5' 9" and had to get a large.
Fit has changed for the worse
Just purchased new Nano Puff to replace my old one. Bought same M size - much too tight in shoulders/armpits and sleeves too long. I know a lot of Patagonia customers are lanky climbers, but a lot more aren't at this point! I'm 6'1" 180 lbs and unfortunately large would be too big because I'd have to roll up the cuffs.
