was looking for a replacement option to the Fitz Roy hooded jacket which was too bulky and likely too much for casual wear around campus...the high-loft is perfect. less volume and bulk and perfect match for cold mid-west winters at school.
I'm 6'3" and 175. I needed a jacket for everyday stuff, hiking, llama packing, but mostly for Western hunting. This is light and warm, I wake up before dark hike in and sit and glass for hours. This is amazing for stacking on top of some layers and staying warm. Great fit.
Great for layering under and over. The only thing that kind of bugs me is the zippers feel sticky, like they're sometimes hard to start moving and feel like they're grabbing nearby fabric. This doesn't seem to actually happen, but it makes me worry. Still this is one of my favorite garments!
This jacket is supposed to be a warmer version of the Down Sweater Hoody. It isn't. Also, as a man, the micro main zipper is too small. I mean it's tiny. I have less expensive clothing with much better zippers. Just charge a little more and put a usable zipper on this jacket.

Super overall fit, covers lower back and hood can be tightened to fit snugly.
Decent jacket but cutting isn't good around shoulders
Found the jacket on sale.
Tried it on after it arrived and am disappointed.

The fit is pretty accurate. Slightly big on me, I'm a slim guy. The length is perfect for me, just under 6 feet. No complaints about the warmth. Only concern is that its losing a good amount of feathers and I've only had it for half a winter. I hope that it will last like most of my patagonia products.

Hi Devin, we're sorry to hear your jacket is leaking feathers! This can be the nature of down insulated items. A good trick with this is to never pull the feathers out because this can cause a tissue effect. Try to pull them back in from the opposite side of the fabric and then massage the fibers back together, essentially sealing the hole back up. We back everything we make with our Ironclad Guarantee. If this persists, you can send it in for a return or repair. Feel free to bring it to a Patagonia store or [mail it in](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html) by printing a $5 shipping label.

After reading the reviews about this jacket fitting a little big I went with the extra small and it’s perfect. I’m 5’8” 150lbs so a pretty small dude and don’t find things to fit very well often. This is light weight and warm. Good stuff.

This has got to be one of the best purchases I've made. I wear this jacket almost every day and it is not only very lightweight but also extremely warm. I purchased this jacket a year ago to replace a 10 year old DAS parka. Overall for winter camping in the NY/NH/VT mountains it has been the perfect tool for the job. It keeps me warm but I find myself missing the fully wrapped and securely fit cocoon style hood of my old DAS parka. Overall it does the job and finds its way into my pack on every winter outing.
Warm, good fit, but this tiny zipper is a bad choice for this big jacket. I had patagonia fix the broken zipper less than one year ago, it lasted for a few months and broke again. Also have many holes in the jacket, its not very durable fabric. Great for casual wear, won’t hold up to much else.

I would not recommend this coat for extrenuous activities because of the sweating factor and there not being vents. It is definitely excellent for walking/standing in the cold,I use it on my work commute every cold day.
My biggest design complaint would be regarding the elastic band that allows you to cinch the bottom of the coat around your waist. Once you pull it tighter,it sticks out with nowhere to go and can get in the way when you reach inside your pants pockets.

I was shocked by how much more filling is in the hi-loft version. Although it's only a few ounces heavier, I learned that the down portion of the jackets accounts for only a very small percentage of the overall weight, and the hi-loft version has significantly more fill. The only downside (no pun intended) is this version is bit tighter under my hardshell due to the increased loft. Another decision I was trying to make was whether or not to go with the hood. But I have found that you can kind of roll the hood down inside into a giant puffy collar if you are wearing this as a midlayer (by the way I think Patagonia should market this.)
Overall I have found this to be warm sitting around camp in the upper 30's and low 40's (with a light fleece underneath), but I haven't tried it in any colder temps yet.
