Ascensionist Pack 30L is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, tough enough, and very comfortable. It fits and carries well: full sized shovel, probe, skins, snow saw, spare jacket, vest, spare gloves, 1 liter of water, goggles, small mountaineering rack, and helmet (if I pack goggles, hat and light gloves in the helmet cavity); book, headlamp, sun glasses or goggles, sunscreen in the lid; cash, ID, ski repair kit in the tiny zipped pocket inside the pack. My climbing helmet didn't fit great, but it did make the inside of the pack--I don't like the yardsale look or feel of excess stuff strapped to the outside. I could also fit my 102mm ski crampons in, but it starts to feel overstretched. A-frame ski carry could be rigged, but I just went diagonal with the tails through a Voile strap in the middle of the last or second to last daisy chains at the bottom, and the top of the bindings in another strap from the daisy on the side to the side top loop. Balanced perfectly with very bulky 22Designs Outlaw bindings. A ski with proper, sleek AT tech toe and heel tower would carry even better. This system is customizable; should be able to find a fit, balance and carry that works for a lot of skis. Downside: I wish the loops on the side were full daisy chains like the old models. The video shows the jury-rigged puffy carry with a sling and carabiner. Daisy chains would be better, not much more expensive. This is an old fashioned, one chamber rucksack. If you like a lot of compartments, or dig lots of pits, this isn't your pack. (I did rig a system of packing my rack at the bottom clipped to slings which I ran up the back of the pack. I could pull up the gear pretty easily, just be pulling on the slings. Not very elegant, but it worked for me.) It doesn't stand up very well when packing. Not as floppy as older models, but still tippy. Upside: Very light Very comfortable Well balanced. I skied a lot of lift serviced with it stuffed to the gills, and on shorter runs wouldn't secure the sternum strap. I hardly noticed the difference. I appreciated the two zippers on the lid. Not crucial but kind of nice. As a carry-on, it fit in some very small spaces in the over-head compartments. The axe carry is fantastic. Also, the 45cm Petzl Ride and Gully fit upright inside the pack. Useful when riding trams or trains, or just getting to and from the start zones. Anything over 50cm and I'd want to carry a spike protector. Also prefer these new velcro shaft closures over the old bungee clips. It is so light and functional, I am done searching for an upgrade. Will likely purchase the 40L for longer tours.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Pack Super versatile and obviously well constructed, this pack is my go-to for everything from scrambles to multi-day pursuits. Not sure how water resistant it is - hoping it is more so than not. Hard to size - asked a few different people but couldn’t get a clear answer. I’m 5’10 and ended up keeping the L/XL size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the color I haven't use this yet but I love the color and how versatile it seems. It's big enough to pack things for a couple days but small enough to handle easily.
