Men’s Shorts for the Long Haul
The first pair of shorts we made—way back in the ’70s—were so sturdy they “stood up” on their own, and we named them Stand Up® Shorts. Sewn from upholstery-grade canvas and designed with a double-fabric seat, these cotton shorts for men took time to break in, but the result was a sweet pair to last forever. Built tough for climbing, hiking and bouldering, they were the original men’s athletic shorts. Today, we make durable Stand Up Shorts in a range of colors (including Mojave Khaki for men’s khaki shorts and men’s chino shorts fans), but we use tough organic cotton canvas that breaks in easily.
Men’s Workout Shorts that Hit the Trails
Since we invented Stand Up Shorts, we’ve added shorts for running, biking and surfing, plus the moments in between. Try our men’s boardshorts, men’s running shorts, men’s bike shorts, or our all-around men’s active shorts that can go from the workshop to the water. Our organic cotton shorts for men are built for daily wear, and our compression shorts are used as liner shorts under bike shorts. If you have cargo, we have men’s cargo shorts.
Features That Matter
When it comes to shorts, little things add up to all-day comfort and performance. That’s as true of our men’s running shorts and men’s bike shorts as it is for our men’s cargo shorts and men’s linen shorts. Take, for example, the pockets on our Strider Pro men’s trail running shorts; they’re positioned for carrying comfort and to reduce bounce. Our Dirt Roamer shorts (mountain bike shorts available in men’s styles) have welded seams to increase stretch and reduce chafing, plus an integrated waistbelt for a just-right fit. Hydrolock Boardshorts, one of our men’s boardshorts, have a unique locking waistband with a textured drawcord to prevent slipping.

Breathable, durable and comfortable fabrics are chosen for the intended use, whether that’s fast dry times and no-slip waistbands on our men’s boardshorts, quick-wicking fabric for our men’s running shorts, lifetime-tough Baggies’ fabric (our tried-and-true men’s nylon shorts) or stretchy, durable fabric for our cycling shorts for men.
