Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag, one suggestion Love this bag! Functions as with plenty of room for all of my gear. I just wish the shoulder strap was on the left...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultimate Sling As a guide I carry more gear then most and then some. This sling wears comfortably and packs everything I need. Very well thought out and built. Plenty of room inside for multiple fly boxes or lure boxes, pocket for maps, dry pouch for phone and much more. External places for pliers/forceps and tippet material. There is a zippered pouch for sunglasses however I use mine for handheld video camera. Front compartment unzips and can be used as a work tray, fly patch holder(included) or anchor point for other attachments with velcro. There is plenty of room as well for additional smaller fly boxes or terminal tackle. The water bottle holder is nice and the rod tube holder can double as additional gear lash points. Highly recommended over vests as it allows better range of motion for various casting techniques. My go to sling for guiding or fishing on my own.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from One day fishing Good - room to hold everything from my vest and fish unencumbered Problems - with net attached pack slips so much that had to leave net on shore to fish without constantly adjusting sling. Major problem. Would readjust strap tightness but it made no difference, had to take net off to fish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little pack Perfect for urban tripping and light hikes. So light and easy to wear, but easy compartments large enough to stuff rain gear, water, and other essentials as well as electronics. Not a fisherman, but will use all the features at various times I'm sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why, Comfort primaril. I have both this version and the 7ml version. I prefer slings when fishing both single and double hand fly rods. They stay out of the way when don't need them and you can just swing them around and dig-in when you do. They are also above the waist and generally for me out of the water. The reason I went with Patagonia’s sling versus another brand were two main things, Rod tube straps and the securing strap on the sling. For me this securing strap is where the comfort comes into play. If you have a habit of loading your bag up, Sling styles bags can dig into your neck. The location of the securing strap on this one pulls the sling of your neck and keeps it lying over your shoulder and chest. Yes, other brands have this secondary securing strap but the location of where Patagonia’s is the difference maker. If you spend all day in the cold and wet chasing Unicorns, comfort is king. Rod tube straps should be standard on every Fly bag…

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for me. Having bounced around from vests to packs to vest-packs to slings this has become my go to. It is bigger than the last version which suits my needs a guide. The fit is good and the ability to stow a rain jacket or tenkara rod in the straps is especially handy.
