When early December’s chill turns to January’s downright cold, the Hi-Loft Down Hoody delivers exceptional comfort and warmth to soften winter’s hard edge. Made with a supple, 100% recycled polyester ripstop shell and insulated with Traceable Down (600-fill-power duck down traced from parent farm to apparel factory to help ensure the birds that supply it are not force-fed or live-plucked), this soft jacket has a low-profile, adjustable hood and drop-tail hem to bolster the toasty factor. The shell, which is treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish, blocks wind and resists moisture, tears and abrasion. Details include a smooth polyester mini-ripstop lining, quilted-through construction, zippered handwarmer pockets and an interior zippered security pocket that serves as a stuffsack and comes with a carabiner clip-in loop. The cuffs are bound with elastic, underarms are gusseted for increased range of motion, and a drawcord hem cinches from inside the hand pockets. Hip length.

Water Resistant

DWR (durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Men's Hi-Loft Down Hoody is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from My go to jacket I purchased one of these about two years ago, and it blew my mind how comfortable it was. It heats up quite quickly, but stays comfortable into warmer temps, until you really start moving around. I've commonly worn this around on 45-55 degree days and been perfectly happy, and especially under a hardshell, taken it into the single digits with massive wind speeds without a problem. Recently I sent it in to have them look at a potential repair for me, and got a brand new one- to my surprize. I did take the opportunity to switch from blue to black (the blue picked up oils from my skin over time) and also dropped to an XS. I don't remember the XS being an option the first time around, but it's only slightly more snug than the old small was. For reference, I'm 5'8" and 125lbs and the new XS fits me very well. I could still wear a thicker base layer underneath without any real issue, though the hood on the new version seems to sit slightly higher up on my head rather than wrap around to really seal out wind. I'm not sure this will become a serious issue though with real world use. Very glad to have my favorite jacket again!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sizing is not comparable to the regular version The build quality is great, typical Patagonia, but I have issues with the sizing. The regular Down Sweater Hoody fits me perfectly in large. I am 6' 1", 190lbs. Unfortunately, I was swimming in this with size large, and while the torso on the medium was alright, the arms were too far back and short, so the movement is limited. I hope they "re-fit" this to match the sizing of the regular Down Sweater and Down Sweater Hoody.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Warm I am very happy with the level of warmth this jacket provides. I had the regular down sweater hoody, but I felt cold below 30°. This is good down to 14° with t shirt and sweater/sweatshirt. With just a t-shirt I’m good down to about 20. Excellent protection from wind, and looks great as well. I’m 5’11” with a slim build (150-ish lbs) and size small fits perfectly. Perfect for cold East Coast (NYC) Winter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great repair service! I bought this jacket last year and have used it on weekend backpacking trips in the fall and up to the white mountains in the winter and it has held up great. One trip the wind picked up and blew a few embers on the jacket. I had about 4-5 small burn holes that I patched with tape. Thanks to Patagonias great repair program, they were able to fix the holes and the jacket looks good as new. I take this thing with me in all 3 seasons on any trip - compresses down to roughly the size of a nalgene, if not a little smaller. This jacket also gives me the ability to take my 3 season sleeping bag down to colder temps without having to pack a bulky liner or buy a separate bag. Multi purpose gear is the best gear!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I bought this jacket a few weeks ago and have been out hiking and camping a few times with it. It is lightweight, storable and serves as a fantastic outside layer. I was in temperatures of below 0 dgress with high winds and it held up extremely well

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very light yet warm I bought this right after Christmas, with a view to getting a v light and compactable jacket I could take anywhere, yet also warm enough for the odd v v cold day in NYC. It is very good in weather down to about freezing. I am a slim build and as I have seen in other reviews, it does run large around the waist...which is annoying since everything else fits me really well - arms a good as is length down to just below the waist. The extra fabric around the waist (a good 2-3 inches) does seem to let in the wind, and makes the jacket less figure-hugging and flattering. I really like how light and compact it is when out in its pocket. great to pull out after a flight and know you will be warm. Overall, v happy with it - the only issue is the size around the waist. I have not tried it in heavy rain...does not seem like it would take a lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT FIT! I purchased this coat to achieve more warmth than my down sweater jacket. It delivered tremendously. It fits more like a winter coat, longer on the hips, fuller cut for layering and a hood for a bonus. So far this jacket has been great incredibly warm, super lightweight and all around comfortable to wear. I had to search for it on the patagonia website but glad i did. Great coat simplistic, functional and quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from By far the best Winter Jacket This is the second jacket I bought after having the first for 5 years. By far the best in warmth, pack ability, and feeling. Pop this bad boy on in the morning and you'll be reluctant to take it off.
