Among people, places and things, we’ve always gravitated toward those with a long and storied past. So when the technology allowed us to build some products almost entirely from recycled materials, we jumped at the chance. Lightweight, highly compressible and instantly warm, this able shirt jacket features a durable face fabric of 60% recycled wool/30% recycled polyester/10% recycled nylon plain weave that resists abrasion, feels smooth on the skin and effortlessly manages the rigors of travel. A cozy layer of 600-fill-power 100% recycled down—reclaimed from used down products—blocks cold and holds in your heat. A supple recycled polyester liner adorned with an oh-so-subtle print wicks moisture and glides smoothly over skin. The full-button front uses 50% recycled polyester buttons. A front zip pocket takes its inspiration from the pocket on our classic Retro-X® Jacket. Generous handwarmer pockets protect your hands and hold everyday essentials, and two large inside stash pockets hold the rest. Cuffs equipped with two buttons for loose and tighter adjustment. Comes with a stuffsack for easy packing. Regular fit.

100% Recycled Down

There’s a huge upside when you can turn waste into something beautiful; we’re doing that with Recycled Down. It’s a mix of 600-fill-power goose and duck down reclaimed from cushions, bedding and other used items that can’t be resold. The reclaimed down is washed, using detergent and thermal water at 34 degrees Celsius, then dried at 135 degrees Celsius (20 minutes longer than the industry standard), making it hypoallergenic. Recycled Down offers the identical performance benefits to virgin down.

Recycled Wool

One of the ways we can lessen the impact of wool production is to recycle used wool.

The practice of recycling wool dates back hundreds of years. After wool sweaters had been worn threadbare, they were collected and shredded into individual fibers and then converted into blankets.

Patagonia’s recycled wool comes from this same process. Aided by modern-day quality controls, the wool goes through a meticulous sorting of materials into color categories prior to shredding. By selecting and blending colors of dyed wool fabrics and garments, we can completely eliminate the dyeing process, saving water and chemicals and eliminating the resulting wastewater.
