Learn More Close
There’s hot and humid rain, frigid freezing drizzle and myriad forms of deluge in between—while experts agree that differences exist, at its heart, wet still remains wet. Stay dry in our Stretch Rainshadow Jacket: it offers lightweight, packable, streamlined protection for a full range of motion in a full range of conditions. The waterproof/breathable, 2.5-layer stretch nylon H2No® Performance Standard shell has a DWR (durable water repellent) finish; the helmet-compatible hood has a laminated visor and a single-pull adjustment (it also rolls down and stows); and the watertight center-front zip and venting pit zips are DWR-coated. The single exterior left-chest pocket and two handwarmer pockets all close with watertight zips, minimal hook-and-loop closures seal the wrists, and a dual-adjust drawcord cinches the hem. The jacket self-stuffs into the chest pocket, with carabiner clip-in loop.

Water Resistant

DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish repels light rain and snow and decreases dry times. When DWR is used in conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

Weatherproof

2.5-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are completely waterproof, windproof, breathable and highly packable for backpacking, alpine climbing and backcountry skiing. They combine a water-repellent shell fabric with a waterproof/breathable membrane and a protective top coat barrier without needing a protective lining fabric. A raised print layer is applied to decreased layering friction and increase moisture management.

2.5-layer H2No® Performance Standard shell fabrics are coated with DWR
(durable water repellent) fabric finish that repels light rain and snow. In conjunction with a waterproof/breathable barrier, the DWR finish keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job.

All products bearing the H2No mark have been vigorously tested for durability in our 24 Killer Wash.

Women's Stretch Rainshadow Jacket is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight, and I'm staying dry! I really like this jacket, mostly. It is lightweight, easy to pack and has great pockets. I've stayed dry in some pretty wet conditions and like the adjustability of the hood. So far my only dislike is that the corner of the jacket at the neckline seems to want to stab me in the neck. I can fold the hood back and unzip the coat a bit to keep the upper zipper corner off my neck, but it's cumbersome to do. I'm not sure if it is the stiffness of the zipper or the angle of the cut, but it is annoying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light weight rain jacket So happy I have this jacket, I have stayed nice and dry in all sorts of rain storms. I like how light weight it is and also great to wear over my t-shirts as a shell when cool out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Upgrade I wore my jacket for the first time today. It is incredibly comfortable, lightweight, and breathable. It kept me warm and dry during the rain. This design is so much more comfortable than my previous 10-year-old Patagonia raincoat. Highly Recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Waterproof I would like to suggest that you do not get this jacket until reviews are posted that contradict mine or Patagonia comments. The fabric is wonderful. I bought it to put in my backpack & purse so I would have something in case of rain, It is very lightweight and stretchy. I have worn it twice. Once on a 3 mile walk while it was raining and the 2nd time to the Farmer's Market during a heavy downpour. It is not waterproof. Both times, the shoulder/arm area was wet. The 2nd time, I had the Down Sweater underneath (very comfortable). The Rainshadow was soaked after about 1 hour. It may be the seams. I am disapointed that Patagonia did not test the Rainshadow, but am glad that they back their products and I will be able to return it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good jacket for bicycle commuting I was looking for a basic jacket in a bright color. The bicycle clothing manufacturers don't get it. All the cycling jackets are black with reflective piping. Pretty worthless in the daytime when I'm biking to work and need to be seen by sleepy drivers. Plus I love how this jacket is roomy enough so there is no binding between the shoulders and I can layer. Perfect jacket to wear all year in CA. I bought the large even tho I'm a medium.
