bluesign® Approved Fabric

Patagonia has worked with bluesign technologies since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in our materials supply chain, and to assist us with managing the chemicals, dyes and finishes used in the process. bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers.

In 2007, Patagonia became the first brand to officially join the network of bluesign® system partners.

Any fabric you see that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.

Fair Trade Certified™

We pay a premium for every Fair Trade Certified item that carries our label. That extra money goes directly to the workers at the factory, and they decide how to spend it. The program also promotes worker health and safety and social and environmental compliance, and encourages dialog between workers and management. Fair Trade is one of the first tools we’re using at Patagonia to raise workers’ wages, improve their standard of living and move them closer to earning a living wage.

Men's Capilene® Lightweight T-Shirt is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fit & Finish! I think I got lucky since everyone is different, but this piece fits me exceptionally well. It's one of those deals where the fabric hangs close without being snug and is equidistant from body parts below the shoulders. I'm 6' 0' and 180# with a 34" waist but slightly bigger chest and shoulders than average. I always order size L in all Paty shirts and am never disappointed. Also, like the light weight, even in winter, as my go-to base layer. Think I'll stock up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely thin and tough! I wear this for cycling and running. It is very light and wicks moisture quickly. You do not have to put in in the dyer after washing, it can air dry rather quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy fabric, packs small, dries quick I have a few of these shirts and love them for running and hiking. I've been in Nepal the last few weeks for work and would run in the morning, take a shower with the shirt on, lather up, rinse, take the shirt off, rinse it a bit more and then wring it out and hang it. There is also a small fabric loop on the back of the neck you can use to hang on a hook/nail if no hangers are available. It dries pretty quick and didn't retain stink. The fabric is very comfortable and these shirts pack really small. I also combined this shirt with one of the lightweight Capilene long sleeve zip necks and a rain shell to do a 5 day trek in Langtang National Park. These three layers were the perfect combo for a variety of temperatures (while moving, had a nano-puff for evenings) from 6k feet above sea level to about 15k feet above at Laurebina Pass where it was lightly raining. I stayed dry and warm the entire time. This is the first year I've used these shirts so I can't compare fit to previous versions but the shirt fits perfect for me... pretty slim fitting, not too long, not too short. I'm 6'0" / 165lbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best T shirt ever I have 4 of these (including one long sleeve). I've quit wearing my other T shirts. These are perfect in hot weather, or under a jacket in cold weather. They wash and dry easily and quickly. Stains come out easily. Stuff them in a bag and they don't wrinkle. The perfect shirt.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The previous version was much better...... The previous version was my all-time favorite tee from any manufacturer. I have to agree with the snigjs review and then some. I'm 6 ft and 160lbs so I like the slim fit. And it's as cool as being shirtless. Besides that It's a completely different shirt. The material is thinner with a square pattern woven into it. I ordered couple of the new design in white with the dark gray accent thread. The first one I unwrapped had a small piece of gray accent thread hanging.....I gave it a pull and it unraveled from the waist to the arm pit. What I like best about the previous version is that it had a clean, slick, minimal look. I could wear that shirt hiking, diving, or fly fishing and then wear the same shirt to a nice restaurant or dinner party. All I had to do was pull on some clean jeans and some shiny shoes with or without a sport coat and I look good! Great for traveling! The new shirt?....not so much.....the accent thread and color combos are too sporty looking, not as classy. And no black. There's nothing wrong with the new shirt. There's just nothing about it that resembles the previous version....might as well call it discontinued. Wish I had known about the change, would have stocked up. Why not sell both?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from disappointed with the change in fit and stretch This is the 3rd version of this t-shirt that I own and i'm not a fan of the changes. My previous ones are from 2015 and 2014. - SIZING - seems like the 2016 sizing changed. The 2015 Med is now a 2016 Sm - STRETCH - the previous version was 94%polyester and 6% spandex while the 2016 is 100% polyester. With no spandex, there is a noticeable lack of stretch in the 2016 version. - MATERIAL - the new material weighs less; 76 g/2.7 oz vs 136 g/4.8 oz. However it's not as smooth against the skin as the previous model - SEAMS - the seam on the new version seem to be scratchier than the previous I'm quite disappointed with this version. The previous versions are my FAVORITE t-shirts and worthy of 5 stars. Sadly, I can't say the same about the new ones. One thing to note, the capilene daily shirt does have 6% spandex but is regular fit instead of slim fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best for sweat I own numerous running shirts from various manufacturers (nike, brooks, lululemon). This shirt is the perfect combination of lightness (paper thin - feels like nothing), durability (like everything patagonia makes) and wicking ability (sweat wicks and dries without absorbing and adding moisture weight). On top of that, you get UV protection. The long sleeve is great as a hiking base-layer or sun-protection garment in hot weather and the short sleeve is the perfect running/biking shirt, especially here in the balmy southern LA summer. I'm 5'7", 170# and the large fits great - not too snug, but hangs a little long for my taste.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST.SHIRT.EVER I've put this thing through the ringer... Ran across Zion and back, hiked the John Muir Trail, both with a pack...have put 500+ miles on it and it still looks like new. You should have seen it after a week on the trail, I have the WHITE one, but it was a grimy grayish brown. Thought it was done...Ran it through a normal wash cycle and came out looking like NEW. And now smells great again too :) Sorry, but this thing blows the Air Flow from last year out of the water. Dries fast, is light as can be, no rash, bomber, great UV protection. Best light weight tech shirt I have ever owned, hands down.
