Each Patagonia product has a unique 5-digit style number printed on the white tag stitched into the garment. It will have STY, ITEM or STYLE in front of the number, and sometimes it will have letters and numbers behind it—those denote the season and year it was made.
So, the tag might say STY54321FA18. This would be style #54321 from Fall 2018.
Along with the style number, the tag will always have RN51884 and a PO number. These are not the numbers that identify your item. We may ask for the PO number if you contact us regarding a quality issue with your garment.
Please note: Only current-season styles can be found on the website. If you want more information about an older garment, please contact Customer Service with your style number and we will help you out.
Patagonia products are designed to work hard and play hard. Should you need some help cleaning up after your most recent outing, our Product Care guide has you covered. There you’ll find cleaning solutions for all manner of grime.
A clean shell is a happy shell. Be sure to wash your waterproof garments and regularly replenish their water-repellent coating.
Having trouble deciphering those product care symbols on the tag of your garment? The US Federal Trade Commission’s Product Care Symbol Guide will explain everything—and help you keep your gear in great shape.
